Psalm 139:14
I will praise You; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: your works are marvellous; and that, my soul knows right well.

The placenta is responsible for working as a trading post between the mother’s and the baby’s blood supply. Small blood vessels carrying the fetal blood run through the placenta, which is full of maternal blood. Nutrients and oxygen from the mother’s blood are transferred to the fetal blood, while waste products are transferred from the fetal blood to the maternal blood, without the two blood supplies mixing.

So a baby’s blood belongs to itself and is unique.

Each Christmas a certain aspect of the Nativity jumps off the pages at me and this year is no different.

I love the whole account, Angels, Shepherds, Magi etc. but before all that Elizabeth wife of Zachariah became pregnant even though they were both very old and Elizabeth was barren.

Zacharias was a priest in the temple and It was there that God told him that his wife would give birth to a son. Zacharias didn’t believe this and was struck dumb until the birth of John the Baptist.

When Elizabeth is six months pregnant, her cousin Mary who is also pregnant (with the baby Jesus) comes to see her and the baby in Elizabeth leaps for Joy.

John the Baptist knew who Jesus is.

See Luke chapter one.

Many years later, also in the water, John leaped for Joy again and said
"look the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world"

Do you know who Jesus is?

A Profusion Of Dahlias

I was passing by this small back yard and marvelled at the beauty contained therein so I thought I would share it with you.

There is beauty everywhere if only we would take the time to see it.
    1 Peter 3:3-4
Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewellery, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious.

LOVE

John 3:16
For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son so that anyone who believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

God sent Jesus to show His Love for you.

Does that surprise you?

Pain is the bodys way of letting us know there’s something wrong.
We all know that but what about constant pain which cannot be explained?
I don’t know.
But I know this

no matter what your circumstances are
no matter how real your pain
they are just for now
God's promises to you are forever
and you can trust what He says wholeheartedly

God doesn't make promises lightly
His promises He won't forget
and the thing that He's done
through Jesus His Son
are the best of His promises yet

When I see crops in the fields, allotments and market stalls filled with produce it makes me gasp in awe at the provision God provides.

Fruit, flowers and fish.

So I wrote this little song a few years ago but I still gasp in awe today.

You lavish Love upon me,
abundance everywhere.
My heart is overflowing
knowing that You care.
I see Your great creation,
I Marvel at Your Way.
Surely I will praise You,
Each and every day.

Nothing posh mind you but you can listen to it hear click on Surely I will praise You (it might take a little while to get going)

God bless you

Be my All

A little prayer in Jesus name

Be the light that's seen in me
be my eyes so I can see
be my ears so I can hear
be my guide ever near

be my Hope in times of dread
be my Lord my God my Head
be my song so I can sing
be my All my everything

Suddenly

Hey up
Spring and Summer arrived all at once

The beauty of spring bulbs and fields filled with buttercups and daisies plus so many shades of green.
It's a miracle when not so long ago all was buried under a blanket of white.
Time indeed for rejoicing.

Impressing The Great Judge

Down on the beach I strutted and swaggered
Wearing new swim trunks,
‘cause my old ones were paggered
I puffed out my chest so I looked the bees knees
Every fit girl, I was looking to please.

I got some new shoes expensive, right cool
Whilst wearing these I’d be nobody’s fool
The heels were of leather, and the uppers were too
Ev’ry goose I met, I’d surely say ‘BOO!!‘

I got a new suit, Shark skin real suave
To look my best, a good time I’d have.
Well would you believe it, Steve got one too,
I was peeved, I can tell you.

Went out in my track suit, Best money could buy,
With my nose in the air, I went sailing by,
To much of a hurry, to stop or to listen,
didn’t notice the sweat on their foreheads a glisten

I got me a tattoo, one just for fun,
A little bunny rabbit with a dirty great gun
And I lapped up the praise, adoration an’ all
But in the night I still felt so small

So what is the point of this little ditty?
Does what you wear make your Heart less pretty?
Is it important to take off what you wear?
to come before God naked and bare?

Or should I stand tall in my swim trunks and suit
With my fancy tattoo and my leather shoes beaut
My brand new trackies tucked under my arm
To impress The Great Judge with all of my charm

March

it’s been the second coldest March on record.

Two weeks ago at least a foot of snow fell over a few days blanketing most of the UK. in thick white beauty followed by further falls as if to make sure everyone had a share.

Some regions suffered power failures and men braved the Arctic conditions to restore customers supplies.

Roads over the Pennines were blocked by deep snowdrifts and abandoned vehicles, nothing new if it was February but this is supposed to be Spring.

Thankfully though Winters grip must loose as the sun gains strength and the earth warms to the kiss of spring. In some spots the snow lingers where it lay deepest but it cannot stay much longer as Spring finally arrives with the burst of colour from Crocus and the trumpet of Daffodils.

The harsher the grey of Winter the brighter the burst of Spring
